Influence of Micro-Textures on Cutting Insert Heat Dissipation

Metal machining is one of the most important manufacturing processes in today’s production sector. The tools used have been developed over years to improve their performance, by reducing cutting forces, friction coefficient, and heat generated during process. Several cooling systems emerged as an effective way remove excessive from chip-tool contact region. In recent years, introduction nano micro-textures on surface has allowed further overall performance. However, there not sufficient scientific data clearly show how texturing can contribute reduction tool temperature identify its mechanisms. Therefore, this work proposes experimental setup study characteristics’ impact transfer rate tools’ fluid. Firstly, a numerical model mimic energy flow tool.
